Pirates don't speak like normal people do, they exaggerate the vowel sounds by using the back of the throat (the thromborax). The thromborax requires years of alcohol abuse to properly develop although can be stimulated before use by taking a large drink of rum right before speaking. But to get into alcohol abuse or to drink before doing humorous actions is not a good habit, and moreover, they take you huge effort.

There is another easy way to make your voice a pirate-liked one: using a voice changing program to "add" the gruffness to it. In this tutorial, we will show you the way to make your voice sound like a pirate's voice by using AV Voice Changer Software.

Let's listen to this real pirate voice and compare it to the normal voice and the voice with Pirate-liked morph effects.

» Notes:

This tutorial is applicable for all editions AV Voice Changer Software.
This tutorial was illustrated using Voice Changer Software Diamond in Diamond skin.
Some steps might not be applicable for AV Voice Changer Software normal edition or Gold edition, we will make notes for that.

Steps to take

	Step 1 - Change voice with the Voice Morpher feature
	Step 2 - Adjust the Formant of Voice (for Diamond edition only)
	Step 3 - Adjust the Voice Equalizer (for Diamond edition only)
	Download sample settings.

STEP 1: Open Preferences in Voice Changer Software

- Turn on the Voice Morpher feature (1).

- In the Pitch and Timbre graph, move the pointer to the UP-LEFT corner for a low manly voice. Make fine changes to enhance the voice for better simulation.

Tips: You can have the voice of your desire even only using this Voice Morpher feature. Just try many fine enhancemence for the voice until you get the one you like.

STEP 2: Adjust the Formant of Voice (for Diamond edition only)

- Open the Advanced panel, switch to the Voice Equalizer tab and turn it on (1).

- Click the Reset button to have the sliders at theirs default value.

- Turn on the Formant Morpher panel.

- Adjust the four Formant sliders. This step is a bit complicated, you should make fine, random changes and find out which one is suitable for your voice.

Notes: You should not change the Pitch or the Smoothing sliders if you are not familiar with the Formant Morpher.

STEP 3: Adjust the Voice Equalizer (for Diamond edition only)

- In the Voice Equalizer tab, scroll (2) to the left to reach the Voice Morpher panel. Turn this panel on.

- Make changes to the LoStretch and the LoShift sliders.

- Adjust the Smoothing slider in order to make the morphed voice clearer.

Notes: You should not make changes to the HiStretch slider if you are not familiar with the Voice Equalizer.

After downloaded these settings, use the Load button of each feature to load them into use. Try different combinations of these settings and make fine enhancement for best effect on your voice.
