This tutorial will show you how to record a song with Voice Changer Software while keeping the song(s) playing with Windows Media Player. Whether the song is retrieving from an URL or from your hard disc, or whatever format it is, the song will be recorded and saved in the format of your choice.

You'll be surprised with its quality!

» Notes:

  • This tutorial is applicable for all editions/versions of Voice Changer Software (VCS in short).
  • This tutorial was illustrated using Voice Changer Software Diamond version 7.0 in Vista7 skin.
  • To optimize the process, close all unused applications. If you are running other Media Players, turn them off or add them into Ignore Filter list so that the program will work properly. See how to add an application into the Ignore Filter list.

Step 1: Turn off the morphing effects of VCS

Click on the Recorder button (1) on the main panel to open VCS Recorder, check the option Record non-morphed streams at VCS (2). This will set VCS Recorder to record audio streams without VCS's morphing effects.

Tip: If you use VCS version 6.0 or earlier, go to the Common tab of the Preferences dialog box for this option.

Step 2: Customize VCS (Diamond) Recorder Settings

Click the Settings button (3) on the Recorder window to go to the VCS Recorder Settings.

Select the Base folder, template tab.

- Choose a predefined base folder path (4) or click Browse (5) to choose the folder where your records will be saved.

- Choose a name template from the Name Template dropdown box (6). It's helpful in recognizing the file type if the full information appears in the file's name. The meaning of each variable is explained in the table (7).

Choose an output format:

- Go to Encoders Tab (8)

- Check the Advanced mode check box (9)

- Depending on the quality of the Playing Stream, double click on a suitable Stream (10) and select the type of output format.

In this tutorial, we choose the 44100, Stereo for the Encoder (11) because the song that I intend to record is already at a quality of 44100, Stereo.

- Click OK (12) to apply the new settings and close the Recorder Settings dialog box.

- Click on the Record button (2) to start recording.

- Click Stop (3) to finish your recording.
